Paraguay firearm licensing: check the legal route

A residence document is not a firearm licence. This page is an orientation to the legal questions, not a buying guide or a promise of authorisation.

Use the current law

Paraguay’s official legislative library publishes Law 7411/2024 covering firearms and controlled related items. Confirm the current implementation and responsible authority before starting a process. Older summaries and anecdotes may refer to a previous framework.

Possession and carrying are separate questions

Ask a licensed local lawyer or the responsible authority which authorisation covers your intended lawful activity, what restrictions apply and whether carrying requires a separate decision. Do not assume that permission to own or store a firearm permits carrying it in public.

What to ask before applying

Confirm your eligibility as a foreign resident, identity and residence evidence, required assessments, registration, storage obligations, validity and renewal. Obtain the official checklist for the specific category rather than sending sensitive records through this website.

Where Ties fits

A general enquiry can help identify which official information or qualified local professional you need. Ties does not issue permits, guarantee approval or provide weapons training. Do not acquire, import, transport or carry a controlled item on the basis of a website article.
