Brazil: plan residence and citizenship separately

The residence route
Select an appropriate residence authorisation through the justice/migration authorities; regional routes depend on nationality.
Residence status comes before a naturalisation plan
Identify the residence permission matching your work, family or other grounds through the migration authorities. A regional route requires the relevant nationality; a Dutch applicant cannot borrow it simply by obtaining another Latin American residence card. Clarify registration, identity documentation and the route to indefinite residence. Prepare the official document list for that route and preserve decisions showing your status and its start date.
Citizenship and what still needs checking
The ordinary route requires indefinite residence, Portuguese communication and criminal-record conditions; the official page lists a four-year base with reductions.
Portuguese, residence and conduct are separate conditions
The justice ministry’s ordinary-naturalisation page describes indefinite residence, communication in Portuguese and criminal-record conditions. It gives a four-year base with specified reductions for qualifying circumstances. A reduction needs its own evidence; it is not available just because a provider advertises the shortest case. Review absence rules and the category-specific document list, then use the official naturalisation service to follow the application and decision.
