Pensioner and rentier residence are distinct categories; verify the current DGME checklist and CCSS registration obligations.
Distinguish pension income from rentier income
A pensioner category and a rentier category ask different questions about the nature and durability of income. Use the current DGME checklist for your category and family members, with the required foreign certificates and authentication. Budget the official documentation charges and ongoing CCSS health-insurance obligations separately from the professional fee. Ask which activities your permission allows before assuming you may work locally.
Citizenship and what still needs checking
The Electoral Tribunal administers naturalisation. Review its residence-based procedure separately from immigration status and renewal.
Naturalisation belongs with the Electoral Tribunal
Use the TSE residence-based naturalisation procedure for the nationality question, rather than an immigration package’s permanent-residence timetable. Ask how your nationality and circumstances affect qualifying time, what residence means for that procedure and which language, knowledge and conduct requirements apply. Keep renewals, address history and travel records organised. Neither temporary residence nor an investment guarantees citizenship.
