Select the actual category
MOTAC’s federal guidelines distinguish Silver, Gold, Platinum and SEZ/SFZ categories and require a licensed MM2H operator. Do not mix one category’s age, deposit or property terms with another, or assume a separate state programme has identical rules. Request the exact current category sheet before choosing a provider.
Plan capital and presence
The guidelines require a qualifying fixed deposit and purchase of a residence after programme approval. They also state a cumulative ninety-day annual stay for participants below fifty. Obtain the category’s current amounts, permitted withdrawals and property-holding conditions before treating the deposit as spendable living money.
Prepare for approval and arrival
The programme requires a medical check after approval. Ask the licensed operator for a dated sequence covering application, approval, deposit, medical steps, property and immigration endorsement. Get separate official charges and service fees in writing, together with cancellation terms and responsibility if a condition cannot be met.
Compare ordinary-life costs
Build a budget with a liquid emergency reserve alongside the committed deposit and home. Investigate maintenance, travel, healthcare and family schooling before choosing a location. MM2H is not a promise of citizenship or automatic permanent residence. Have tax treatment and banking eligibility reviewed independently rather than inferring them from programme marketing.
